Results Midwest Sectional Qualifiers

May 2, 2009 - 3, 2009
Simon Recreation Center - St. Louis University: St. Louis, MO

Great results from St Louis over the weekend.
Windy City Fencing extends it's amazing season with victories at
The Midwest Sectional Qualifier.

Nabil Salem won Men D1 Sectionals bringing home the GOLD Metal
Mason Speta was wearing a bronze Metal as a result of Taking 3th in Women's eppe.

There has been a great deal of hard work done by all of the Windy City competitors and clearly these wins are further proof of the success of the program. Windy City Fencing has become one of the dominate forces in the U.S. Fencing world.

Hats off to Tsanko for building such a successful team.

FRED Tournaments mailto:noreply@askfred.net

For those of you who attended our Tounament in Louisville, thanks for coming and fencing! We had a really good turnout despite the Easter weekend, and we plan on hosting another one next year.
Currently we are scheduled in March, 2010, but we are looking at moving to December 10th-12th to avoid conflicts with other SYC events.

For those of you who fenced, photos are now available On Line

The photographer has his information on each site, so you can order photos from him if you are interested.
There are some good shots so take a look.

Louisville Super Youth Fencing results

On April 10th, 11th & 12th, The Grand Ballroom of Gault Convention Center was the host of the 2009 Louisville Super Youth Tournament.

Windy City Fencing sent a team of nine fencers to compete. One must conclude that WCF had a great weekend
Samamta Perry was on fire, taking Gold medals in both Y 12 and Y 14.
Harrison MacRae brought home a gold for his Y 12 victory as well as getting points in his Y14 event.
Harrison Rogers got Bronze medal in Y10.
Emma Malueg got bronze at Y14 girls
At the last minute Y10 woman's Epee was called off, otherwise WCF would likely have seen Ms. Lavia take home a gold.
Arpad Nealy placed 8th in Y 12.

Lane Lubell was seated 2nd going into the Y12 event but had to drop out as a result of his father forgeting to chew his food.
Dante Lavia and Lane Lubell both competed in the Y 14 event. August Malueg faced a tough pool and really fenced great.

A few week ago, Dante got 6th in the Super Youth competition in San Jose, Ca and made Summer Nationals 09 .CONGRATS TO ALL ....
The next big stop for WCF is the NAC (North American Cup) in Portland.
We will have 13 fencers there to fence in Y10, Y12 and Y14. Mason Speta will also be competing Div 1.
The compitition at a NAC is always fierce; so all fencers will have have to work extra hard.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL.....TSANKO
